

That iPod has a "Music" app that I then use to open the playlist I just downloaded from my laptop, then I can start listening. I then transfer the podcasts and the playlist to my iPod 4th generation device. In addition, I arrange the playlist to play the episodes I am most interested in first. Since I am subscribed to 100 or so, I often don't listen to the latest episode of many of the podcasts I am subscribed to. Google Podcasts is the best way to manually subscribe to a podcast feed on your Android device (it also works on the iPhone).Each day I use iTunes on my Windows laptop to select 20 or so podcast episodes that I would like to listen to that day. This is evidenced by the fact that there are some “podcasts” which can only be subscribed to on Spotify. I have a feeling that Spotify wants to exercise complete control over “podcasts” that are available on its platform. I am inclined to think that Spotify specifically doesn’t want to allow this because it would allow people to listen to podcasts that Spotify doesn’t have a relationship with. You copy a podcast url from a podcast and most (if not all) podcast apps will let you subscribe to the podcast with that url. It’s such a basic feature that it is mind blowing that Spotify doesn’t have it already.
